Gabriel Martinez's plans for his son, Robert, are now gone. He had hoped that some day Robert would visit Peru, where Mr. Martinez was born. Robert also had planned to switch careers and move into computers, but now that will never happen. And, eventually, Robert and his fiancée Lisa had planned to marry, but they hadn't yet set a date.
