Stephen S. Birdsall
is dean of the College of Arts and Sciences
at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds a
master's and a doctoral degree in geography from Michigan State
University and is the co-author of four books and atlases,
including Regional Landscapes of the United States and
Canada.
John Florin
is chair of the geography department at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds a master's
and a doctoral degree in geography from Pennsylvania State
University. His recent publications include Atlas of American
Agriculture: The American Cornucopia with Richard Pillsbury
and Regional Landscapes of the United States and Canada
with Stephen S. Birdsall.
