An Iraqi Shiite man boils rice for passersby
An Iraqi Shiite man boils rice for passersby in the al-Aazamiya area in Baghdad, Iraq, Sunday, April 20, 2003. An offer of rice to fellow Shiite Muslims marks the end to 40 days of mourning of the death of one of their most important saints, Imam Hussein. During the rule of President Saddam Hussein, such rituals were banned.
