During the first summer session of the Seeds of Peace camp, Palestinian, Israeli, and American campers shared a cabin. Zagloud Said, a Palestinian camp counselor who is now studying at Earlham College in the U.S., said at first it was hard for the kids to adjust to each other. Some of the campers in their cabin "never dreamt of sleeping next to" a Palestinian or an Israeli, he said, but after the initial shock "the enemy has become a friend." (State Department Photo) |
