How can teachers facilitate learning through the use of the Internet? With so much out there on the World Wide Web, how can teachers know what to choose for their classes? Join ESL/EFL/TESOL expert Silvio Avendano for a webchat where he will provide a framework for evaluating websites and invite participants to apply the framework to a list of sample Internet sites to determine their relevance to a Teaching English to Young Learners course of study.

Guest Biography: Silvio Avendano is an English as a Second Language/English as a Foreign Language (ESL/EFL) teacher and teacher trainer with extensive experience working with teachers in the United States, Nicaragua and other countries. He has a doctorate in language, literacy & culture, and a master's degree in instructional systems development/Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), where he currently is director of the Online TESOL Professional Development Programs. Avendano also teaches ESL teachers, administrators and students via online and face-to-face courses at UMBC.
