As the war-torn nations of Europe faced famine and economic disaster in the wake of World War II, the United States proposed to rebuild the continent in the interest of political stability and a healthy world economy.

Guest Biography:

Edwina Campbell is a professor of national security studies at the Air University's Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama as well as a visiting senior lecturer at King's College's International Policy Institute in London.

Campbell has served in the U.S. Department of State's Foreign Service in the past.
