More than five years after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the international community's fight against transnational terrorism continues. Cooperative international efforts have produced genuine security improvements -- particularly in securing borders and transportation systems, enhancing document security, disrupting terrorist financing and restricting the movement of terrorists. Despite the undeniable progress, major challenges remain. Join U.S. Department of State counterterrorism official Rhonda Shore for a discussion on how the United States forges partnerships with non-state actors, multilateral organizations and foreign governments to advance the counterterrorism objectives and national security of the United States.

Guest Biography: Rhonda Shore works at the U.S. Department of State as a public affairs advisor to the coordinator for counterterrorism and is the chief editor of the annual congressionally mandated report, "Country Reports on Terrorism." Shore has also served as a public affairs officer in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs and the Bureau of International Organization Affairs. A New York native, she began her government career at the U.S. Information Agency in 1989; prior to this, she worked in the private sector as the director of publicity for Island Records and Chrysalis Records. Shore has a master's degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
