From May 13 to May 18, Ambassador Gaddi Vasquez, the U.S. Representative to the United Nations Agencies in Rome, will travel to Guatemala and Honduras. He will be accompanied by journalists from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador and Mexico. This is the second of a series of such trips to the field to highlight U.S. support for humanitarian programs.

Starting May 14, Vasquez and members of his office will submit periodic updates, including photos and podcasts, about their trip throughout Guatemala and Honduras.

Guest Biography: Ambassador Gaddi H. Vasquez is the Eighth U.S. Representative to the United Nations Agencies in Rome. He was nominated by President Bush and unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate on June 29, 2006. Vasquez was sworn into office on September 7, 2006 by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Prior to that, he was the Director of the United States Peace Corps.
